Quick Remedies to Brighten Your Day

Everyone has their bad days. Maybe you woke up late, spilled your coffee in the car, argued with a friend, or even wore two different shoes. But no matter what the reason is for your slump, there are ways to turn it around.

These are my favorite ways to get back on track and get happy!

Dance Around!

It may seem silly at first, but dancing can help boost your mood. Physical activity is a powerful and easy way to perk up. So lock yourself in your room, office, or car and blast your favorite song–tune out the rest of the world and dance!

Within twenty seconds of the song you will start to feel like a new person. If dancing isn’t your thing, get your body moving and your endorphins pumping by going for a quick walk .

Read Positivity

The power of words can change your perspective. Even if you are having the worst day, it can be comforting to read positive quotes or stories. When I have a bad day I often find myself reading inspirational quotes on Twitter or Pinterest.

Quotes are an easy way to put your life in perspective and give you time to reflect. So take ten minutes for yourself and catch up on your inspirational reading.

Pamper Yourself

Sometimes a relaxed evening of pampering yourself and your body before bed can help ease the day’s stressors. Simple products already in your kitchen (or found in your local grocery store) can assist you!

  • Honey and lemon: Mix one tablespoon of lemon juice and one tablespoon of honey together until smooth. Use a cotton ball to apply the solution to your face and let it sit for 20 minutes. After, wash your face with cold water.
  • Ice cube: Massage an ice cube on your face to improve the blood circulation and relax your muscles.
