4 Ways to Boost Your Self-Confidence

Self-confidence is one of the hardest things to gain, and one of the easiest things to lose. But, gaining confidence in yourself and learning to love yourself doesn’t have to be difficult: there are some simple things you can do everyday to show yourself a little love and build a little confidence along the way.

Write Yourself Notes

One quick and easy way to give yourself a little confidence boost during the day is to write notes and put them on display. You can put them on the mirror in your bathroom, on the visor in your car, in notebooks, in your bag, or wherever else you’re going to see them!

On your notes you can write anything you want. A few suggestions that my friends and I like to use are:

  • Hello beautiful
  • You’re doing great
  • Breathe, relax, and smile
  • You are amazing

Any words, phrases, or quotes that you think might put a smile on your face, make you feel good about yourself, and help your confidence will work–you just want something that will serve as a pick-me-up and confidence boost throughout your hectic days.

Remind Yourself How Great You Are

Start each day by telling yourself how fabulous you are. When you look yourself in the mirror in the morning, pick out five things you like about yourself and say them out loud. They don’t have to be physical things, they can be about your personality, your accomplishments, and anything else that you want.

Start with five things every morning and as you become more comfortable add a few more, or even say something good about yourself every time you end up in front of a mirror during the day.

Learn to be Positive

Everyone has moments throughout the day when we switch into a form of negative self talk. It’s pretty much inevitable: we are our own worst critic’s. However, a great way to begin combatting that struggle is to notice when you switch into negative self talk. Every time you catch yourself thinking something negative about yourself, try to flip it into something positive.

For example, if you forget about something you were supposed to do and begin telling yourself how awful you are and how you always screw things up, take a step back and instead try to remind yourself that you are extremely busy because you have a lot of amazing accomplishments on your plate–plus you’re only human, everyone is forgetful sometimes.

Don’t Be Afraid to Love Yourself

No matter what the negative voice in your head is telling you, you are wonderful, loveable, and amazing.  Don’t be afraid to love yourself. Don’t be afraid to tell yourself how beautiful and amazing you are. Don’t be afraid to be confident in yourself and your abilities. You deserve all the love, confidence, and happiness in the world.
